For the benefit of my parole officer, these are my movements for the next year or so
-
10th Jan - Very hilly and hope not too muddy run near Leatherhead. Should be a crowd of Serpies there hoping to make up for the Gatliff debacle. - CANCELLED due to snow. Probably would not have done it anyway as I still have LE2 Plague
-
16th Jan - 45 miles from Wendover to Paddington, half on trails half canal. I've only heard great things about the organisers and hope to give more of their races a go. Finished in 7.05
-
23/24th Jan - 45 miles a day running (I think) along the Grand Union Canal from Northampton to Tring and then back. A chance to get to know that bit of the canal even better, and backwards too. ONLY DID DAY 1, 7.32 :(
-
6/7th Feb - 33 miles a day for 2 days along the North Downs Way. Cheap and cheerful and an excellent atmosphere at the previous XNRG event made me sign up for this. Both Days Completed Around 12 hours overall
-
13th Feb - Finally a 50k in London. From Streatham to Wembley along some of London's trails. Nice to have a race that I can jog home from :) DNS - Suspected broken toe :(
-
6th March - 55 miles of flat trail between Scotlands 2 main cities. This will also be my 30th Birthday celebration so looking forward to a pint (or 10) after the race.
-
20th March - A 50 mile run around some trails in Paris. Don't know much more about iit than that.
-
26-28th March - 3 really tough marathons in 3 days. Did this 2 years ago and loved it. Coudln't do it last year cos of some silly desert race
-
11th April - A road marathon around Paris. Not too much more to say about it.
-
18th April - A new marathon that aims to be the UK's second biggest and has already sold out.
-
24th April 2010. New race from coast to coast in Devon. I hope to get this done in time to join the London Marathon celebrations the next day. RACE CANCELLED
-
24th April - 53 miles on the West Highland Way
-
Apr 25th - This is still my pb course. I will have ran 53 miles the day before and will run from Birmingham to the start that morning. Another PB is unlikely.
-
22nd May - 110 miles between 2 ancient stadia in Greece. Bit like the Spartathlon but shorter. One I will seriously consider if I don't get into Badwater
-
June 18th/20th - 103 miles. Still torn between this and the IOW ultra.
-
19th/20th June - 69 miles in two days around the IOW which I hear is quite hilly.
-
4th July - Glorious route made even better if the sun is shining.
-
July 12th - The race I started ultra running for. 135 miles of uphill road in a furnace.
-
31st July - Amazing race in the beautiful mountains of Davos. Huge choice of races and a great atmosphere. Hope 50 odd Serpies make the trip. Great weekend away, even if I don't run.
-
24th August - 100 miles over the Alps. This race just does not fit in with my plan but may not be able to resist entering.
-
Sept - How many races can boast an anniversary like that? I want to go back and run the race that nearly destroyed me.
-
5/7th November - 3 marathons in 3 days. Will be part of a potential triple triple.
-
12/14th November - 78 miles over 3 days. Fantastic event along the Ridgeway path
